Keynote
Sarah Matt, MD, MBA
Sarah Matt, MD, MBA is a physician, national bestselling author, and healthcare AI strategist. She advises health systems and health technology companies on clinical AI governance, physician adoption, and commercialization strategy, and serves as Assistant Professor at SUNY Upstate Medical University.
Her advisory work draws on a combination of experience held by few practitioners in this field: clinical training in surgery, followed by executive roles spanning the full range of health technology scale. She served as VP of Healthcare Product Strategy at Oracle Health, where she was part of the team during the Cerner acquisition, and as VP of Solution Strategy at NextGen Healthcare. She has also held executive roles at early-stage digital health companies, including Chief Strategy Officer at Sovato and a leadership role at ESO, which was acquired by Vista. She has worked across the full transaction: as clinician, as health technology executive, and as independent advisor to the health systems and companies on both sides of the deal.
Her book, The Borderless Healthcare Revolution (Wiley, 2025), is a national bestseller. It introduces the Five Pillars of Access framework (Physical, Financial, Cultural, Digital, and Trust) as a diagnostic structure for understanding why care delivery systems and the technologies designed to support them so frequently fail to align. The book is a working reference for health system executives and health technology leaders.
Dr. Matt hosts The Clinical Realist, a weekly podcast on healthcare AI and care delivery strategy. She provides internal medicine charity care in rural upstate New York.
She holds a BS from Cornell University, an MD from SUNY Upstate Medical University, and an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin (McCombs School of Business).
